Hard Chrome: the classic finish is virtually indestructible and will not chip, peel or flake. Not all chrome is created equal. You don’t want a cheap chrome barbell, you want hard chrome. Chrome is extremely resistant to rust. In fact, it will almost never rust, BUT if it is not hard chrome, it can scratch off and will eventually wear off after time.
