Founder and Head Designer 

METAL MUSCLE is built on real-world experience — not marketing theory. The brand was founded by Mark Soo, one of Asia’s most respected fitness authorities and a pioneer of functional training, with three decades of international experience across elite coaching, gym ownership, equipment manufacturing and sports governance.

Known throughout the industry as a coach of coaches, Mark has accumulated over 23,000 hours of hands-on coaching and operated training facilities for more than 13 years, working with everyone from first-time lifters to professional athletes and national-level teams.

As one of the first expatriate trainers in China, Mark played a foundational role in shaping the country’s modern fitness industry — launching the first personal training studio, outdoor bootcamps, kettlebell gym, and the original CrossFit facility on the mainland. His work helped introduce functional and strength training to an entirely new market.

Crucially, Mark also brings 15+ years of direct involvement in gym equipment design, manufacturing, retail, and global distribution,  alongside leading international fitness equipment brands including Powertec, Century, Infiniti, Kettler with collaborations including Apple, BMW, Nike, Adidas, New Balance, professional sports teams, and high-performance athletes across disciplines including strongman, powerlifting, rugby, martial arts, functional fitness and Ninja Warrior. Has various TV shows appearances and produced national competitions and events.
